Diabetic socks are specially designed socks, which reduce pressure in the foot calf and leg. These socks aid in prevention of blistering on the surface of skin. In addition, diabetic socks curtail moisture accumulation. Diabetic socks are seamless and non-elastic to prevent constriction due to swelling of feet. Furthermore, the seamless design minimizes friction, pain, and neurological discomfort. Anti-microbial property is an important feature of diabetic socks, which aids in prevention of bacterial as well as fungal growth in moisture-prone feet. Material such as bamboo, wool, and charcoal have natural anti-microbial properties, which are extensively used in diabetic socks. In addition, leading players in the diabetic socks industry are now introducing silver or copper threading, which actively combat fungi and bacteria, thus preventing infection and foul odor in feet.

Calf length and knee length diabetic socks are most beneficial for individuals having blood circulation issues. In addition, sport diabetic socks are available in ankle length and crew heights offering all the standards and benefits of a diabetic sock. Unlike the skin tone or plain white compression socks, diabetic socks are available in plethora of designs and colors to match with outfits. Furthermore, Merry Jane style and low-cut socks are available in the market to suit specific requirements. Easy availability of the socks in different varieties and styles is expected to augment the diabetic socks market growth.

Newly Launched “Let’s Talk About ACP™” Website Offers Workshops and Training in End-of-Life Care - Advance Care Planning (ACP) #ACP

"We’re excited to help meet the need for advance care planning education within more Black communities through the Let’s Talk About ACP program."
Dr. Gloria Thomas Anderson

The Let's Talk About ACP™ website (letstalkaboutacp.org) is a platform for enrollment and learning, but the primary goal is to encourage individuals and families to talk about what their healthcare wishes would be in case of a medical emergency or life-threatening illness. It is a companion to Heart Tones' ACP for AA™, or Advance Care Planning for African Americans, a national outreach initiative that partners with organizations to help bridge the racial disparity gap in healthcare ACP delivery, launched in November 2021.

Dr. Anderson shares three ways to become involved in the Let’s Talk About ACP program: “Your organization can offer advance care planning education by becoming a facilitator, host, or sponsor. Our team is ready to help you get started–just reach out to us on the website to schedule a brief informational session.”

Churches, ministries, community groups, nonprofits, and healthcare-related organizations are encouraged to visit the website to learn more about bringing the Let’s Talk About ACP™ program into their communities. The new website offers Let’s Talk About ACP™ certification training for two facilitators per organization, unlimited annual usage, and supportive tools to assist organizations with hosting workshops, through an accessible platform within the Let’s Talk About ACP™ website.

“We’re excited to help meet the need for advance care planning education within more Black communities through the Let’s Talk About ACP program,” Dr. Anderson says about the launch of her new website.

How Long Is Exile?: Book III the Long Road Home by Astrida Barbins-Stahnke

Get it on Apple Books

This is the third book of the trilogy series of How Long Is Exile? By Astrida Barbins-Stahnke titled, How Long Is Exile? : Book III: The Long Road Home. The book opens in 1983 with Latvian widow Milda Arajs recalling acting in a play performed in a displaced person camp in Germany after WWII. It then quickly turns into a novel within the novel in which Mara, a young woman born of exiled parents, flies to Latvia in the 1980s in search of her heritage, discovers the bleak nature of Soviet occupation, and falls in love. Then it’s back to Milda, the main protagonist, who remarries, this time to a domineering fellow expatriate consumed by guilt over a war crime he committed and determined to have his way.

Astrida Barbins-Stahnke was born on March 15, 1935, in Priekule, Latvia. Her family’s days on the farm, with its sunshine and dark clouds, ended on Sunday morning, October 8, 1944, when the German and Russian armies were at their borders. They have two hours to escape, which they did in our horse-drawn wagon. Suddenly they were six homeless refugees.

Until the end of the war, they traveled through bombed-out Germany. When the war was over, they found themselves in the American Zone, in Esslingen, in a Displaced Persons’ (DP) camp, where they lived until they immigrated to the United States in August 1949. After living a year in Charlotte, North Carolina, they relocated to Cleveland, Ohio, where her father formed a church and helped establish the Latvian Community.

True Story: I Found Big Foot Book by Dustin Teudhope

Get it on Apple Books

"I was stoked about the deer that must be living around there. Kevin was just like, ‘Oh yeah, there are real monsters in these woods."
Excerpts from True Story: I Found Big Foot by Dustin Teudhope

Yes, it is a true story; I have actually found the creature of legend that many refer to as Bigfoot. I like to call them Georgies though. Bigfoot is really just an adjective describing a body part, not a name. Plus the plural form of the word as such doesn't make sense. I mean, why would society accept a species with an illegitimate name? These highly intelligent, super-elusive wild primates possess supernatural strength, speed, and power. They truly are rulers over the food chain in the animal kingdom. Georgie just stuck for me as a name after an expedition with the KBFRO (Kentucky Bigfoot Research Organization) in which a little girl had showed up and referred to these creatures as such.

When I first heard this, I instantly thought of Curious George, the pet monkey from the kids' books. Then I later found out that she was comparing these animals to George of the Jungle, the man who was raised in the jungle by monkeys. Then when you factor in all of the evidence of these creatures from the Chattahoochee watershed, the name Georgie just seems fitting. Now this is only a nickname for these beasts of the Southeast. After studying the videos from my trail cameras frame by frame, I've came to the conclusion that these animals resemble a cross between a bear and a gorilla. On the other hand some of my good friends think they look like werewolves. Taking all this into consideration, I've decided to officially name these relatively undiscovered creatures Bewerearillas! These animals are 100 percent real, and people should beware because they are killers.

I Am a Sidewalk Book by Matt MacGregor - Sidewalk: Your Concrete Buddy on the Road

Get it on Apple Books

Sidewalk: Your Concrete Buddy on the Road

"I was full of life’s potential, for I did not know what I was going to be; a wall, a road, a porch, a footing, a bridge beam or a sidewalk."
Matt MacGregor

Matt wrote this story in 1977 as a sophomore in high school. He picked the topic to get points for creativity and improve his chances for a better grade. He got a B. For him, that was a good grade. He kept the story in a folder until the mid-1990s, when he started to type it up as a short story to put in a magazine. He never finished. In the back of his mind, he wanted it to be a children's book. In 2010, Matt asked his old friend Don Huff to help give him pointers. Don gave Matt some good ideas and encouraged him to continue. He was going to have his sons Collin, Dillon, and Trevlan illustrate the story. They gave him some great ideas. This further inspired him to continue. His three boys enjoyed the story when it was read to them. Maybe they will read it to their children someday. As the final writing was being finished, Matts brother Mike, sister-in-law Kathleen, nephew Luke, brother-in-law Paul, and good friend Kelly made key contributions to the final effort. May, Matts spouse, patiently let him finish the project in a supportive manner.

A goal of Matts is to deliver a copy of this book to his two high school English teachers who graded his English paper. Matt learned a lot during the process of turning the original homework assignment into a children's book. With the help of Don and others, he learned about the power of friendship, with patience and persistence to make progress. This story is more than just a sidewalk journal. It is a reflection on life and speaks to that through the eyes of a sidewalk. This story is for all of us, not just our children. Read it, and see what it tells you..

Known for her high energy, funky, brass thumping signature soulful sound, Shelia’s takes a different direction on the first single entitled “Love Is A Beautiful Thing” a love ballad showing the more intimate, singer /songwriter side of her unique style.

Establishing an independent record label and production company with her husband Glenn 'GP' Piper, Bdm/Ugroove Music in 2004, as a vehicle to increase the effectiveness of her ministry, she released her Debut album 'Tha Story Told Twice' in 2009. Breaking new grounds and perhaps carving out a new category in gospel music she labels "Christian Soul". Chapter 2 from the label in 2014 is comprised of 12 powerful and anointed tracks, with popular songs like Get Excited (the soulful single) which debuted in the top 50 DRT Rock/Adult Contemporary Charts and was re-released April of 2017. The title track Are You Ready? featuring vocalist Erin Stevenson Shelia Moore Piper is simultaneously unashamed in declaring the joyful news of the gospel while crafting a sound that is unabashedly and jubilantly analog in a digital world.

When you spend time with Shelia you begin to understand the subtle intensity of her music. Music is a ministry, and it is my ministry, and it was this passion and conviction that inspired Shelia Moore Piper to deliver her current release, Are You Ready Chapter 2. A body of music that is inviting, reflective, and encompasses a universal message of worship, self-love, and hope.

Piper deals with these themes directly and with endless finesse. Her voice is soulful, feminine, and guided by her impeccable ear and good taste. Are You Ready stretches over a variety of styles, often utilizing jazz and soul undertones, sometimes dealing in groovy offerings of funk with light smatterings of Motown and disco, and occasionally visiting the hip-hop genre

All in all, the record is exceptional listening, incredibly well orchestrated and produced, and Represents a fantastic introduction for the public to this astounding, Christian Soul singer.

Mental Health Experts Share The #1 Action To Reduce Stress in the Workplace

Teams that know their own, and their colleagues’ strengths, are
using this to ensure they work together more effectively.

We all know that too much stress is not only detrimental to our physical health but also inhibits performance. Work-related stress affects peoples’ lives differently; for some, it leads to less creative thinking, difficulty making decisions, limited focus or sometimes obstructed communication.

Left unaddressed, it can become the fast-track to low morale, higher employee turnover and burnout. Recent studies have found that employee resilience is associated with decreased stress and that those people with low resilience are four times more likely to experience burnout.

About Onebright: https://onebright.com/

What does resilience in the workplace look like?

It’s not that resilient individuals have fewer stressors at work, but rather, they are better equipped, through mental health training and cognitive tools, to manage the challenges they face. Evidence shows that resilient employees engage in three specific behaviors, which help them remain focused and optimistic despite setbacks or uncertainty.

Most training providers are training-only companies, wellbeing specialists or large groups who cover the whole of healthcare. Onebright is differentiated as we are true experts in mental health. We purposefully choose not to dilute our expertise by expanding to other health services, making us a niche in the market.

At Onebright we work with mental health clinicians who are experts in workplace mental health. The specific expertise of our trainers inspires trust, encourages open dialogue around mental health and effectively upskills a manager’s ability to support issues with mental health in the workplace.
