Coca Cola by Dizzy Box Nine #Rock #Pop #Indie #CocaCola

Listen on Apple Music

If reviewers such as Hollywood Digest, Dancing About Architecture, Indie Pulse Music, Woke Chimp, and Vents Magazine provide any indication, the L.A. indie-rock/pop group Dizzy Box Nine uses elements of “innate intuition” to create music that is “invigorating and moving” and blends “West Coast punk/rock charm” with “80s new wave,” “pop-punk,” and “alt-rock” stylistics, creating “authentic” music that is “warm like the Venice Beach sidewalks.”  Dizzy Box Nine has been compared to bands such as the Refreshments, Jimmy Eat World, the Police, Enanitos Verdes, RHCP, and MxPx. Dizzy Box Nine has crafted its own signature sound that is unique and stands on its own.

Dizzy Box Nine was created in the summer of 2016 by singer-guitarist Randy Ludwig, and features guitarist Tony Robles, drummer Amos Przekaza, and Joaquin Sierra on bass.  On October 15th 2021, they released the album Last Call Before the Fall.  This is the follow-up to Faster Than Anticipation, which peaked at #176 on the college radio charts, where it remained in the top 250 for seven straight weeks!  Last Call Before the Fall features 12 unique tracks, that all interestingly fit together to reveal different angles of a melodic journey.  Yet, “this is not just a collection of catchy 3-chord pop songs, there’s actually an interesting level of depth, melodicism, and authenticity to these songs” (L.A. Music Press).  To date, Last Call Before the Fall has peaked at #165 on the college radio charts, and was hovering around the top 200 for six straight weeks!

Singer-guitarist Randy Ludwig says, “we strive to create songs that feel good to listen to, but we also strive to create pictures and images with our lyrics and with our sounds.  We want to connect with the listener in meaningful ways, while still creating something that feels good to listen to.”  He continues, “a good song can serve as a time-travel device, sometimes taking you into the past, and at other times taking you into the future.”

Under The Dirt by Magna Zero #Rock 2023

Listen on Apple Music

Los Angeles Psych Rock trio Magna Zero are lifelong friends David Aubrey (Drums), Jason Moore (Vocals/Bass/Keys), and Chris DiCesare (Guitar). Their raw sound combines elements of progressive rock, desert rock, and post-punk into a swirling cauldron of guitar and groove-driven sonic energy. Formed during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the band forged their musical identity by co-quarantining in a deserted LA studio and creating over one hundred musical compositions that each began as ‘free jams’, or improvisational works, recorded by Aubrey on his phone. Over the next year, the band sculpted many of these works into songs, and in late 2022 they released four tracks as their debut EP, All Must Go.

After the critical success of All Must Go, the band announced the release of their first LP, The Great Nothing, due March 20, 2023. The album captures the raw, live spirit of the Magna Zero sound, with most of the recordings done as live takes and minimal overdubs used. Aubrey relates the album conceptually to a black hole, with the creative and destructive forces that propel the cycles of life, death, and rebirth throughout all things. As a unified work of art, The Great Nothing is a transformative odyssey into a state of flow that is ultimately free of time, place, and self. Moore’s lyrics weave a visceral narrative of existentialism and transcendence, reflecting both an individual and collective experience of living in today’s uncertain and turbulent world.

Magna Zero, translated from Latin, means ‘Great Nothing’. Coined by Aubrey as a title of one of the band’s early compositions and suggested by Moore for the name of the band, the term refers to a state of peace that is beyond the ego, where one experiences harmony and unity with the universe. This is the way the band feels when they play music together. DiCesare describes how their creative process starts from a blank canvas, in an empty space of possibility. This void, or nothingness, is an entry point to peace and connection for the band, and is what they hope to share with their audience through the music they create.

Magna Zero is currently promoting The Great Nothing with featured singles and music videos, playing private events and guerilla shows, and recording new material for their second album.

Zeros and Ones by Danny Echo #Pop #Rock

Listen on Apple Music

Taking the name from one of his many guitar fx pedals Danny Echo combines brit-pop melodies, classic rock vocals with the alt-pop excitement of a Spacex launch!!

With life spinning out of control on a U.K. tour with The Ryecatchers, Danny decided it was time for a change...

Returning to Vancouver, Danny realized the need to continue the rainy city’s musical heritage. After being awarded money from Vancouver’s PeakFM as part of the Peak Performance Project he and fellow Ryecatcher Mark Christopher headed to the iconic Mushroom studios.

They recorded their song “Tomorrow Today” with Jeff Dawson (Daniel Powter) and got it mixed by Mike Fraser (ACDC, Mother Mother) at another historic studio, Bryan Adams’ Warehouse. The song gained some notoriety getting spins on Vancouver radio stations The Peak-FM, 99.3 The Fox, CITR, CO-OP, CBC and Cariboo’s' GOAT FM, with the video and music streaming everywhere.
